These labels were originally prone to fading and therefore later shielded in a dedicated hatch which included the Service Tag, Regulatory Labels and COA. Windows 7 OEM Product Keys were typically printed on an external label affixed to the Device. Windows 10 Installation Media will automatically input these Product Keys taking you to the Windows License Agreement Screen Automatically. Windows 8.x OEM and Windows 10 OEM Product Keys are embedded in Dell OEM Devices that come preinstalled with Windows 8.x and Windows 10 respectively. This new installation media recognises Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 Keys as Windows 10 Keys. Microsoft quickly released the second Mainstream Windows 10 Build in November 2015 which addressed Windows Insider and End User Feedback regarding Product Activation. The time limit was originally associated with the Upgrade Only Product Activation Mechanism that was available in the first Mainstream Windows 10 Build released in July 2015. Originally Microsoft marketed Windows 10 as a 1 Year Free Upgrade to any computer that is running Windows 7 and Windows 8.x. ![]()
